Bruce Nagel and Sue Connors successfully settled a $25 million medical malpractice settlement for a suit for 51-year-old former electrician who suffered blindness and other neurologic impairments when a hematoma blocking his airway after elective neck surgery caused oxygen deprivation.  The treating doctors, including the neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist, did not perform an emergency procedure to quickly restore his airway, nor did they call for assistance from a qualified practitioner to perform the procedure.  The lack of oxygen caused brain damage including bilateral blindness, balance issues,  memory loss, speech impairment, among other disabilities.
