On Tuesday, October 27, 2025, a mother and daughter filed suit against the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network (“NJ Sharing Network”) alleging the organ procurement company defrauded them in order to obtain tissue, bone grafts, and organs from Rosario Corsini, their son/brother who died on June 13, 2025 at age 41.
The Complaint alleges the company pressured them to donate his corneas, heart valves, bones, and skin and that the company misrepresented how the parts would be used and the effect the harvesting would have on his body. The family were not informed that harvesting of his body parts would radically alter the appearance of the body and when they viewed him, he we unrecognizable. They also allege that they were not informed that body parts are sold and that the company lists revenues of close to $60 million dollars per year for years 2022, 2023, and 2024. Additionally, they were not informed that skin and other body parts could be sold for cosmetic purposes and international use.
Studies show that 70% of donor families would have objected to donations had they been informed that the harvested tissue, bones, and organs are sold for significant sums of money.
In November 2025, the House Ways and Means Committee demanded documents from the NJSO regarding its operations and are investigating numerous complaints of alleged improper practices by this company brought to light by whistleblowers. The N.J. State Attorney General if also investigating.
