Settlement reached on behalf of a 41-year-old female who suffered a ruptured aneurysm and hemorrhage three days after being released from an emergency room with a misdiagnosis of migraines. She had complained of throbbing, painful headaches and vomiting off and on for 11 days before the hospital visit. She was sent home with pain medication and no head CT to rule out a more serious condition. Days later, the aneurysm ruptured. The patient underwent emergency surgery for a preventable right frontal intracranial hemorrhage. The cognitive impairment due to delay in diagnosis is permanent, rendering her unable to work.
