On May 11, 2020, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an Executive Order extending the time to file child sexual abuse actions under the New York Child Victims Act to January 14, 2020. The Governor extended the prior August 2020 deadline in order to provide survivors of child sexual abuse much needed additional time to exercise their rights and consult with legal counsel due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nagel Rice LLP represents a significant number of survivors of child sexual abuse and is here to help you during this difficult time. If you would like to speak with an attorney at Nagel Rice about the Child Victims Act and your potential claims, please contact Nagel Rice at (973) 618-0400 or at nagelrice@nagelrice.com.
